Susan Johnson (then Susan Anderson) was a student at Whittier Elementary School from kindergarten in 1947 through the sixth grade. In this interview, conducted by fourth grade members of the Whittier Student Historians’ Club, she describes her experiences as a student at Whittier, including the rules, her favorite recess activities, how the school has changed, and what it was like to watch President Eisenhower’s inauguration in 1953.
This interview is one of a series of interviews recorded by fourth-grade students from Whittier Student Historians’ Club at Whittier Elementary School.
