David Brigham and Maggie Simms talk about the process of evacuating during the Fourmile Canyon Fire. Their house, at 390 Hill Street in Gold Hill, was threatened by the 2010 fire and narrowly escaped being burned. They relate the history of the house, which was the house in which Magie grew up, and detail what they took with them when they evacuated, including collections of cowboy boots, cowboy shirts and a vacuum! Dave explains some of the reasons that the house survived the fire, and Maggie delves into the ways in which she feels changed in the aftermath of the fire.
This recording consists of raw footage for the film PACKED. Following the interview, which is approximately 37 minutes, is a section of extra visual footage.
390 Hill Street, Gold Hill (history of house, fear that house had burned, survival of house).
